One of the main goals of the NICE program is to bring students closer to the campus through an immersive learning experience. The campus tour allows students to explore the university, see what it offers, and learn how it can support their future goals, especially in a cybersecurity career. We had our 2025 campus tour on May 22. It was a great experience that sparked a lot of interest and excitement among the high school students who attended.

2025 Campus Tour

The tour began with students from five different high schools across Oregon who are partnering with the NICE program. Upon arrival at the University of Oregon’s Knight Library, they were warmly welcomed by the University’s student ambassadors, who served as tour guides. The group was then guided to Unthank Hall, where they enjoyed a meal provided by the NICE team before the tour officially began. During the meal, students had the opportunity to interact with one another, as well as with teachers and members of the NICE program. Each group was accompanied by dedicated chaperones who ensured the event proceeded smoothly and safely.

Living in the dorms at the University of Oregon offers more than just a place to sleep, it is a true campus experience. The rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed to support both study and relaxation. Common areas encourage connection, while quiet spaces provide the perfect setting for focus and reflection. With easy access to dining, classes, and campus events, dorm life helps students feel part of a vibrant and supportive community. Students were shown an example of the dorm in the immersive students welcome center.

High school students had the opportunity to visit the Lillis Business Complex at the University of Oregon. During their visit, they explored one of the most well-known academic buildings on campus. They experienced the modern classrooms, open study spaces, and welcoming atmosphere that support learning and collaboration. The visit offered a valuable look into college life and what it means to study business at the University of Oregon.
